High efficiency mixed metal oxide catalysts, embedded into active catalytic zones of high specific surface area MgO · Al₂O₃ spinel matrix

Highly efficient mixed metal oxide catalysts incorporated within the active catalytic zones of a MgO · Al₂O₃ (Magnesium Oxide-Alumina) spinel matrix with a high specific surface area can be used in various applications, including:

* Electrocatalysis: These catalysts can enhance the efficiency of electrochemical reactions, such as oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reactions (HER).

* Environmental Catalysis: Can be used in gas sensors for detecting harmful gases like CO, NO₂, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), etc.

* Energy Conversion: These catalysts can improve the performance of materials used in solar cells and batteries.

* Chemical Synthesis: These catalysts can be employed in the synthesis of valuable chemicals through oxidative reactions.

* Industrial Processes: High efficiency metal oxide catalysts can be used in large-scale industrial processes to produce hydrogen and other chemicals. These catalysts facilitate the conversion of syngas (a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide) into methanol.

* VOC and heavy metals removal from air: The metal oxide catalysts facilitate the oxidation of VOCs. This process is efficient and eco-friendly, converting VOCs at lower temperatures and reducing secondary pollution. Appropriate metal oxide catalysts can also be activated by light (photocatalysis), further enhancing the breakdown of organic pollutants into less toxic products.
